What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Casiola Franchise LLC must provide the Disclosure Document to a prospective franchisee 14 calendar days before they sign a binding agreement or make a payment in connection with the proposed franchise sale. This federal requirement allows potential franchisees time to thoroughly review the document and seek professional advice before committing to the franchise.
However, the FDD also notes exceptions to this rule in certain states. New York and Rhode Island require Casiola to provide the disclosure document at the earlier of the first personal meeting or 10 business days before the execution of the franchise agreement or payment of any consideration. Michigan requires a 10 business day waiting period before signing any binding agreement or making any payment, whichever occurs first.
These waiting periods are designed to protect franchisees by ensuring they have adequate time to consider the investment and its implications. Prospective Casiola franchisees should be aware of both the federal and state-specific regulations regarding disclosure and waiting periods, as these dictate the timeline for making informed decisions about purchasing a franchise.
