What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Minnesota law requires Casiola to provide a franchisee with at least 90 days' notice of termination, except in certain specified cases. During this notice period, the franchisee has 60 days to cure the default that led to the termination notice.

This amendment ensures that Casiola complies with Minnesota Statutes Section 80C.14, Subdivisions 3, 4, and 5, which outline the specific termination and non-renewal rights afforded to franchisees in Minnesota. The inclusion of a cure period is a standard practice in franchising, allowing franchisees an opportunity to rectify any breaches of the franchise agreement and potentially avoid termination.

Prospective Casiola franchisees in Minnesota should be aware of these protections, as they provide a degree of security and recourse in the event of a dispute with the franchisor. It is important to carefully review the franchise agreement and any state-specific amendments to fully understand the terms and conditions of the franchise relationship and the rights afforded under Minnesota law.
