What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, after a franchisee complies with all requirements and evaluations, Casiola will notify the franchisee of the approval or disapproval of a proposed supplier within 60 days. This decision is based on Casiola's reasonable business judgment.
This means that if a Casiola franchisee wants to use a supplier not already approved by the franchisor, they must first undergo an evaluation process. After completing all required evaluations, Casiola has up to 60 days to inform the franchisee whether the proposed supplier is approved or not.
It is important to note that Casiola retains the right to determine the level of evaluation required for alternative suppliers and is not obligated to approve them. Casiola can also designate itself or its affiliates as the exclusive suppliers for certain products and services, benefiting from associated fees without compensating the franchisee. This highlights the franchisor's control over the supply chain and the potential limitations on a franchisee's choice of suppliers.
