Casiola Franchise · 2024 FDD

Answer from 2024 FDD Document

If this is your first Casiola Business, we will provide initial training for you or, if you are a Corporate Entity, your Managing Owner, plus up to three designated managers. At the time of signing your Franchise Agreement you will pay to us our Initial Training Fee. Either you or your Managing Owner, plus your general manager, must successfully complete the initial training program to our satisfaction no later than 20 days prior to the scheduled opening of your Casiola Business. The initial training program takes place over an approximate 10 day period. If more than four individuals attend initial training, you will be charged an additional fee per additional person attending initial training. You will be responsible for all travel expenses and employee wages related to your attendance and completion of training. (Franchise Agreement, Article 4). Currently, we provide our initial training program no less frequently than quarterly and on an as-needed basis.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, initial training is provided for the franchisee or, if the franchisee is a corporate entity, the Managing Owner, plus up to three designated managers. The franchisee pays an Initial Training Fee at the time of signing the Franchise Agreement. The franchisee or Managing Owner, plus the general manager, must successfully complete the initial training program to Casiola's satisfaction no later than 20 days prior to the scheduled opening of the Casiola Business.

If more than four individuals attend initial training, the franchisee will be charged an additional fee per additional person attending initial training. The franchisee is responsible for all travel expenses and employee wages related to attendance and completion of training. The initial training program takes place over approximately 10 days.

This means that while Casiola allows additional personnel to attend the initial training, it comes at an extra cost to the franchisee. The franchisee needs to factor in these additional costs when planning for the initial training, especially if they want more than the standard four individuals to be trained. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, where the franchisor covers the cost of training a certain number of people, but charges extra for additional attendees.
