What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must obtain written pre-approval from Casiola for all advertising, marketing materials, and mediums used to promote their franchised business. Franchisees are only permitted to use advertising and marketing materials that Casiola designates and approves in writing. Casiola may provide approved marketing templates, including pre-approved ads, ad copy, and digital media, for franchisees to use at their own expense.
If a franchisee wishes to use marketing materials or mediums not already approved, they must submit a written request for permission. Casiola will then approve or disapprove the request within 15 days of submission. However, Casiola is not obligated to conduct any advertising or spend any amount on advertising on behalf of the franchisee in their operating market.
Casiola also requires pre-approval for any franchisee-directed local marketing efforts. Franchisees are required to engage in local marketing and commit a specific minimum amount of funds to these efforts. Casiola will provide access to approved marketing campaigns, media, and messaging, including source designs, copy, and design specifications. Franchisees will bear the direct costs of customizing, duplicating, and using these marketing campaigns, including printing, distribution, and media placement. All digital media and marketing must also be approved by Casiola, and the franchisor will designate information about the franchisee's Casiola Business on the www.casiola.com website or other designated websites.
