What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to use the Bookings and Management System designated by Casiola. This system encompasses various software and platforms necessary for managing the franchise, including booking platforms, payment processing, and customer relationship management. Casiola retains the right to modify or discontinue any part of this system.

The FDD specifies that Casiola determines the fees related to User Network and Processing Systems, which include booking fees and payment processing fees. These fees are charged to end-user guests and property owners. Casiola also has the authority to set and modify commission pricing, and promotional requirements, which may impact the franchisee's fees and prices.

While the franchisee must use Casiola's Bookings and Management System, the document does not explicitly state that the franchisee is directly responsible for initial or ongoing license fees for the system itself. Instead, it appears that Casiola sets the fees charged to customers using the system. It is important for a prospective franchisee to clarify with Casiola whether there are any hidden or indirect costs associated with the Bookings and Management System, and how these costs might affect their profitability.
