What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to exclusively use the Bookings and Management System designated by Casiola in the operation of their franchised business. This system includes software, internet-based systems, point-of-sale systems, and customer relationship management tools that Casiola deems necessary for day-to-day operations.

The FDD emphasizes that Casiola owns the proprietary and confidential information within the Bookings and Management System. Casiola also retains the right to modify or designate alternative systems as it sees fit. This means a franchisee must adapt to any changes or updates Casiola implements.

Casiola maintains direct access to the Bookings and Management System and the data it contains, allowing them to oversee operations and evaluate data. Upon termination or expiration of the franchise agreement, the franchisee must preserve and transfer all data within the system to Casiola. This ensures Casiola retains control over customer and sales information.

This requirement is fairly standard in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to maintain brand consistency and monitor performance across all locations. However, it's important for a prospective Casiola franchisee to understand they will have limited control over the technology used in their business and must rely on Casiola's decisions regarding the Bookings and Management System.
