What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to engage in local marketing. Casiola requires franchisees to commit a specific minimum amount of funds to these local marketing efforts. Casiola will provide franchisees with access to approved marketing campaigns, media, and messaging, including source designs, copy, and design specifications. However, the franchisee will bear the direct costs of customizing, duplicating, printing, distributing, and placing these marketing campaigns with media sources.
All marketing activities undertaken by a Casiola franchisee must receive pre-approval from Casiola. This includes all advertising, marketing materials, and marketing mediums used to promote the franchised business. Franchisees are only permitted to use advertising and marketing materials that Casiola designates and approves in writing. Casiola may provide approved marketing templates, including pre-approved ads, ad copy, and digital media, which franchisees can use at their own expense.
If a franchisee wishes to use marketing materials or mediums not already approved by Casiola, they must submit a written request for permission. Casiola will then approve or disapprove the request within 15 days of submission, including sample marketing materials. Casiola is not obligated to conduct any advertising or spend any amount on advertising on behalf of the franchisee in their operating market.
Casiola also maintains strict control over the use of digital media and websites. All digital media and marketing efforts must be approved by Casiola. Casiola will designate information about the franchisee's business on the www.casiola.com website or other designated websites. Franchisees may also be required to participate in a local or regional advertising cooperative if one is established in their market, contributing amounts determined by the cooperative.
