What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must purchase a computer system. This system includes a notebook computer with broadband internet access for use in the administrative office, and a smartphone with cellular broadband wireless internet access. The estimated cost for this computer system ranges from $500 to $1,500.
In addition to the initial purchase cost, Casiola franchisees should also budget for ongoing maintenance, repair, and updates to the designated computer systems. The estimated costs for these services range from $100 to $2,000 per year. Casiola does not have any contractual obligations to maintain, repair, update, or upgrade the franchisee's computer systems.
It is important to note that Casiola requires franchisees to provide independent access to all information and data transacted, collected, and stored by the franchised business on the Bookings and Management Systems, computer systems, and otherwise. Franchisees must also license and use the designated property management system (PMS), which is currently Track from Travelnet Solutions, or any other system designated by Casiola in the Manuals. This highlights the importance of budgeting not only for the initial purchase but also for the continuous operational costs and compliance requirements associated with the computer systems.
