What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Casiola maintains direct access to all information franchisees enter into the Casiola operations software application. Specifically, Casiola requires franchisees to license and use the Casiola Property Management System from Casiola, its affiliates, or its parent company.
This direct access allows Casiola to monitor and manage the data related to the franchise operations. Casiola also has direct access to all information entered by a franchisee into the point of sale, property management system and channel manager system. This includes data related to sales, inventory, customer information, and other operational aspects of the business. Casiola earns revenue from the licensing and use of its application.
This level of access is common in franchise systems, as it allows the franchisor to ensure brand consistency, monitor performance, and provide support to franchisees. However, prospective franchisees should carefully consider the implications of granting such access to their operational data and ensure that they are comfortable with the franchisor's data privacy and security policies. Franchisees should inquire about how Casiola uses this data, what security measures are in place to protect it, and what access franchisees have to their own data.
