What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, 'Know-How' encompasses all of Casiola's trade secrets and proprietary information. This information is related to the development, establishment, marketing, promotion, and operation of a Casiola Business. It includes methods, techniques, specifications, procedures, policies, and marketing strategies that are part of the Casiola System.
Specifically, the definition of Know-How includes information contained in the Operations Manual and the Confidential Information. This means that franchisees are expected to maintain the confidentiality of these elements and use them solely for operating their Casiola Business as instructed by Casiola.
This definition is important for prospective franchisees because it highlights the breadth of information considered proprietary and essential to the Casiola franchise system. Franchisees are restricted from using this Know-How in any other business or capacity, even after the franchise agreement expires or is terminated. This underscores the importance of protecting Casiola's proprietary information to maintain the integrity and competitive advantage of the franchise system.
