What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Article 4 of the franchise agreement outlines the franchisee's obligations regarding initial and ongoing training. Specifically, Article 4 is referenced in the context of initial training, communication of operating standards, marketing standards and approval, approved vendors, and supplemental training.
The FDD states that initial training is provided for the franchisee or their Managing Owner, along with up to three designated managers. To attend this training, the franchisee must pay an Initial Training Fee. The franchisee or Managing Owner, along with the general manager, must successfully complete the initial training program no later than 20 days before the Casiola Business opens. The initial training program lasts approximately 10 days. If more than four individuals attend, the franchisee will be charged an additional fee per person. The franchisee is also responsible for all travel expenses and employee wages related to training attendance and completion.
Regarding ongoing training, Casiola may require the franchisee and their Operating Manager to participate in supplemental on-site training. If the franchisee isn't meeting System performance standards, Casiola may provide supplemental on-site training at its discretion. The franchisee is required to pay the current supplemental training fee, which is currently $750 per on-site trainer per day, plus travel, meals, and accommodation expenses incurred by Casiola. Additionally, if a replacement Operating Manager is appointed, they must complete the initial training program to Casiola's satisfaction, and the franchisee will be required to pay the then-current supplemental training fee for replacement Operating Managers, which is currently $750 per manager per day.
