What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Casiola's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Casiola and/or its affiliate-owned businesses have the option, but are not obligated, to contribute to the Brand Development Fund. This fund is used for various marketing and development activities to benefit the Casiola system. These activities include market studies, research, service and product development, advertising, public relations, and the creation of marketing materials.
The Brand Development Fund is managed by Casiola and is not required to be segregated from their general operating funds. Casiola also states that they are not a fiduciary or trustee of the Brand Development Fund. While the fund aims to benefit the overall Casiola system, it will not be used to directly promote an individual franchisee's Casiola business or its specific marketing area.
Casiola may use the Brand Development Fund to explore and test new technologies and media to improve the operations and marketing of Casiola businesses. These developments may relate to the Casiola website and other online offerings, but franchisees may or may not directly benefit from these advancements. Casiola can also use the fund to cover administrative fees and internal employee costs associated with managing the Brand Development Fund's activities.
