Your Center and its employees are highly regulated. You, or if you are an entity, your majority owner or the entity, must be the Center's license holder as required by the Department of Human Services or other licensing entity in your state. Each state has laws specific to the childcare industry and education. You must comply with these laws. Each state will make the final determination of a Center's student enrollment capacity. You must also comply with all zoning laws and regulations that apply to your Center as well as those that apply to commercial kitchens since you will be making meals on-site. There may be certain state bonding requirements that apply to your Center. All of your staff, including any Operations Manager, must undergo and pass
background checks and your Directors must meet certain requirements imposed by state and federal law. You must also comply with all laws regarding the protection of children and all transportation laws in connection with the transportation of your students. Your Center must also comply with all applicable state and federal requirements as they relate to child care centers including minimum number of educational materials per student and minimum amount of food each child must receive each day.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Casa De Corazon's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the license holder of a Casa De Corazon center must be the franchisee, or if the franchisee is an entity, the majority owner or the entity itself. This requirement is mandated by the Department of Human Services or other licensing entity in the relevant state.
This means that a prospective Casa De Corazon franchisee must either personally hold the required license or ensure that their majority owner or the business entity they are operating under fulfills this obligation. This is a critical requirement, as failing to comply with state licensing regulations could result in penalties, legal issues, or the inability to operate the center.
Furthermore, the FDD emphasizes that each state has specific laws governing the childcare industry and education, and Casa De Corazon franchisees must adhere to these laws. The state will ultimately determine the center's student enrollment capacity. Additionally, all staff, including any Operations Manager, must undergo and pass background checks, and Directors must meet specific requirements imposed by state and federal law. These regulations highlight the importance of understanding and complying with all applicable laws and regulations to ensure the smooth and legal operation of a Casa De Corazon franchise.
