What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Casa De Corazon Franchise Disclosure Document, the lease rider can be executed in counterparts. This means that the lease rider does not need to be signed all at once; instead, the parties can sign different copies of the same document, and each signed copy will be considered an original. All of the signed copies together will then constitute one and the same agreement.
For a prospective Casa De Corazon franchisee, this provides flexibility in the signing process. It allows the franchisee, landlord, and franchisor to sign separate copies of the lease rider, which can be particularly useful when the parties are geographically separated or have different signing schedules. This can help expedite the leasing process and allow the franchisee to move forward with establishing their Casa De Corazon center more efficiently.
This is a fairly standard practice in the franchise industry, as it simplifies the execution of legal documents when multiple parties are involved. The provision ensures that even if the signatures are collected on different copies, the legal effect remains the same as if a single document had been signed by all parties at the same time.
