What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Carvel Franchise Disclosure Document, a Carvel Swirl Shoppe offers a distinctive menu compared to other Carvel locations. Specifically, a Swirl Shoppe, operating under the Cinnabon Swirl™ mark, provides traditional Carvel and Cinnabon products.
What sets the Swirl Shoppe apart is its inclusion of hybrid menu items. These items uniquely combine products and ingredients from both the Carvel and Cinnabon brands, offering customers a novel and integrated experience of both brands.
To operate a Swirl Shoppe, a franchisee must purchase both a Carvel franchise and a Cinnabon franchise. This co-branding approach requires signing franchise agreements with both Carvel and Cinnabon, as well as adhering to the Swirl Shoppe Schedule outlined in the FDD. Carvel will not grant the right to operate a Swirl Shoppe unless Cinnabon agrees to offer a Cinnabon franchise and permit its operation as a Swirl location.
