According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Carvel may require a franchisee to obtain a site selection analysis from an Approved Supplier for any proposed site. The purpose of this analysis is to assist Carvel in determining whether to accept the proposed site. Carvel considers factors such as population density and demographics, traffic flow, pedestrian traffic counts, visibility, parking, access, household income, and local competition, including other Carvel Shoppes. The FDD states there is no time limit for Carvel to approve or disapprove of a site.
The estimated cost for this site selection analysis ranges from $2,500 to $5,000. This cost is in addition to other expenses the franchisee will incur during the site selection and development process.
