What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Carvel may require additional managers or employees to attend the Management Training Program under specific circumstances. Specifically, any Primary Contact or Managers hired after the Shoppe opens, along with anyone Carvel designates as a "Subsequent Trainee," must attend the training program before being involved in the Shoppe's operations. Carvel may also require employees transferring from another Carvel location to complete the training again.
Furthermore, Carvel may mandate additional training for managers or employees if operational or performance issues are identified at the franchisee's Carvel Shoppe. This ensures that all personnel involved in the operation of the franchise are adequately trained and capable of meeting Carvel's standards.
For each Subsequent Trainee attending the Management Training Program conducted by Carvel, the franchisee must pay a training fee, which is currently $250 per trainee per day. This cost should be factored into the franchisee's budget when hiring or transferring employees, or if performance issues arise that necessitate additional training.
