What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee is opening their first or second Carvel Franchised Business (including franchises owned by affiliates and including any Carvel, Cinnabon, or Cinnabon Swirl Franchised Businesses), Carvel will send one or more representatives to the franchise location for on-site training at no cost to the franchisee. This on-site training will last for a minimum of two days and will occur when the business begins operations.

This is a significant benefit for new Carvel franchisees, as it provides hands-on support and training during the critical initial phase of operations. The representatives' expertise can help ensure a smooth opening and adherence to Carvel's standards. For franchisees who are opening more than their second location, or for any subsequent training, Carvel has the option to provide on-site training but is not obligated to do so.

Carvel may agree to provide on-site training at the franchisee's request, but they are not required to do so. Carvel also retains the right to mandate on-site training at any time, especially before or after the opening date, or if the franchisee fails to comply with the brand's System and Standards. If Carvel provides on-site training outside of the initial support for first or second-time franchisees, they may charge a fee of $500 per trainer per day, subject to annual adjustments, and require reimbursement for travel and living expenses.
