What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if you hire or appoint a Primary Contact or Manager after the Shoppe opens, or if Carvel designates other persons as Subsequent Trainees, you must ensure they attend and successfully complete the Management Training Program. For each Subsequent Trainee attending the Management Training Program conducted by Carvel, you must pay a training fee. The current training fee is $250 per trainee per day.
This fee covers the cost of training these new personnel to Carvel's standards. It is important to note that this fee is in addition to any wages, travel, and living expenses the franchisee must cover for the trainee, as well as the cost of uniforms.
This policy ensures that all staff members are properly trained in Carvel's operating procedures, which helps maintain consistency and quality across all franchise locations. It also allows Carvel to generate revenue from ongoing training needs as franchisees expand or replace staff.
