What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must pay a training fee for each Subsequent Trainee attending the Management Training Program. The current fee is $250 per trainee per day. This fee is subject to change and may be increased annually, with the amount of the increase limited to the Allowed Adjustment.

Subsequent Trainees are defined as Managers, Primary Contacts, Directors of Operations hired or appointed after the Franchised Business opens, and any other persons Carvel designates. These Subsequent Trainees must attend and successfully complete the Management Training Program (or a modified version) before becoming involved in the operation of the Carvel franchise. Carvel may also require employees transferring from another business to complete the Management Training Program again.

This fee covers the cost of the training program itself. Franchisees are additionally responsible for all expenses incurred by their personnel during training, including travel, food, lodging, compensation, and the cost of uniforms. Franchisees should factor in these additional costs when budgeting for training expenses. It is important to note that Carvel reserves the right to modify the Management Training Program at any time, including the content, format, and location of the training.
