ansfer from one Franchised Business to another, if they no longer meet our then-current requirements, or annually. If a Certified Training Manager ceases to be a Manager of a Certified Training Location or has their certification revoked, such Franchised Business must be re-certified as a Certified Training Location before offering training again.
- (iii) Provision of Training. If we certify a Certified Training Location and Certified Training Manager, such Certified Training Manager must provide the Management Training Program at a Certified Training Location in accordance with our Standards for such training. If we withhold or revoke certification of your Certified Training Location, we may require your trainees to attend the Management Training Program at another location that we designate and may charge our then-current training fee (if any) for such training.
- 11.2 On-Site Training. Except as may be specified on Schedule A, we are not required to provide any on-site training or consultation at the site of your Franchised Business (the "On-Site Training"). You may request that we provide you with On-Site Training. We may agree to provide On-Site Training but will not be obligated to do so. We may also, in our sole discretion, require that you obtain On-Site Training at any time, including in the days or weeks before and/or after your Opening Date and/or if you fail to comply with the System and Standards.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Carvel is generally not required to provide on-site training or consultation at a franchisee's location. However, if it is a franchisee's first or second Carvel, Cinnabon, or Cinnabon Swirl franchised business, Carvel will send a representative to the location for a minimum of two days of on-site training, at Carvel's expense, concurrent with the beginning of operations.
The FDD also states that a franchisee may request on-site training, which Carvel may agree to provide but is not obligated to do so. Carvel also retains the right to require a franchisee to obtain on-site training at any time, including before or after the opening date, or if the franchisee fails to comply with Carvel's system standards.
If Carvel provides on-site training beyond the initial training for first-time franchisees, they may charge a fee. The current fee is $500 per trainer per day, which may be increased annually by no more than the Allowed Adjustment. Additionally, the franchisee may be required to reimburse Carvel for the trainer's travel and living expenses, including airfare, car expenses, lodging, and meals.
