What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Carvel does not provide compensation for any services that you or your personnel perform in any training program. As the franchisee, you are responsible for covering all expenses incurred by you and your personnel for any training programs. These expenses include travel, food, lodging, compensation, and benefits.

This means that if you or your employees participate in training, Carvel will not pay you or them for your time or any services provided during the training. This is a standard practice in many franchise systems, where the franchisee is considered responsible for the costs associated with training their own staff.

Therefore, when budgeting for the costs of opening and operating a Carvel franchise, you must factor in the expenses related to training, including the compensation you will pay your personnel while they are attending training programs. This can impact your initial investment and ongoing operational costs.
