What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the monthly software license fee for the POS system may change over time. Carvel franchisees operating under the CapEx Program currently pay between $159 and $397 per month, while those under the HaaS Program pay between $216 and $442 monthly, depending on equipment configuration. Carvel collects these fees and remits them to the vendor on the franchisee's behalf.

This means that a Carvel franchisee should anticipate potential fluctuations in their monthly POS system expenses. These changes could impact the overall cost of operations and profitability. It is important for prospective franchisees to factor in potential fee increases when projecting their expenses and revenue.

In addition to the monthly fees, the FDD also states that the total annual cost to license, operate, and support the POS system is subject to change. This cost includes license and lease fees, P2PE software license fees, the POS System Support Fee, and the Back Office and Polling Software Fee. Therefore, franchisees should regularly review their POS system costs and budget accordingly to account for any potential increases.
