What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Carvel retains the right to modify its training program at any time. This includes changes to the frequency, timing, length, content, format, and location of the training. This flexibility allows Carvel to adapt its training to evolving industry standards, new products or services, or changes in operational procedures.
For a prospective Carvel franchisee, this means the initial training program described in the FDD could change before their training begins or at any point during the franchise agreement. Franchisees should stay informed of any updates or modifications to the training program and be prepared to adapt to these changes. This also highlights the importance of ongoing communication with Carvel to ensure that the franchisee and their staff are adequately trained and up-to-date on the latest operational standards.
Carvel may also require additional training for existing managers or employees if operational or performance issues are identified at the Shoppe. The franchisee is responsible for the training fee of $250 per trainee per day for subsequent trainees. This ensures that Carvel franchisees maintain a high standard of operation and customer service, but it also represents a potential cost that franchisees need to factor into their business planning.
