What methods of payment are Carvel franchisees required to use for amounts owed to the franchisor?

- 3.4 Means of Payment.
You must pay all amounts you owe us by electronic funds transfer or draft.
We reserve the right to require you to deliver these payments to another party or location, or through any other means of delivery we specify, including by check, electronic funds transfer or draft, wire transfer, or other forms of funds transfer.
We also reserve the right to change the due dates or frequency of the due dates of the amounts that you owe to us under this Agreement.
We will notify you when we change the location for payments, the required payment delivery method, the due dates, or the frequency of the due dates for payments.
You must comply with any new or additional procedures as we may specify in the Manuals or otherwise, in writing, and/or perform any acts and sign and deliver any documents we designate as necessary to assist in accomplishing payment by the method that we specify within 30 days of our notice to you.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to make all payments to Carvel via electronic funds transfer or draft. However, Carvel retains the right to modify the required payment method, potentially requiring payments via check, wire transfer, or other forms of funds transfer.
Carvel also reserves the right to alter the due dates or the frequency of payment due dates. Carvel will provide notification to franchisees regarding any changes to the payment location, the required payment delivery method, or the due dates and frequency of payments.
Furthermore, franchisees must adhere to any new or additional procedures specified in the Manuals or in writing by Carvel. Franchisees are obligated to perform any actions and deliver any documents deemed necessary by Carvel to facilitate payment through the specified method, within 30 days of receiving notice from Carvel. Franchisees are also responsible for maintaining sufficient funds in their designated bank account for all Comprehensive Support Fees and other amounts due via electronic funds transfer.
