What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if Carvel provides the Management Training Program for the third or subsequent Shoppes, including those operated by affiliates, the franchisee must pay a fee. The fee is $5,000 for Co-Branded Shoppes. This fee covers the cost of the Management Training Program for the required trainees.
For the first two Shoppes, including those owned by affiliates, there is no charge for the Management Training Program for the required trainees. However, for subsequent Shoppes, this fee applies. This is a one-time fee per Shoppe, not per trainee, for the Management Training Program.
Additionally, Carvel may charge a fee of $250 per trainee per day under certain circumstances. This per-trainee fee applies if the franchisee elects to bring additional trainees beyond the required number, if the required trainees are trained in separate sessions, or if any required trainees fail to complete the program successfully and need to re-enroll or are replaced with new trainees.
