When do Carvel's Comprehensive Support Fee payments commence after the Opening Date?

According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Comprehensive Support Fee payments begin on the Payment Date of the first full month following the store's Opening Date. The Payment Date is the same day of the month that royalties and other fees are drafted from the franchisee's Designated Bank Account.

This means that if a Carvel store opens on any day of a given month, the franchisee will not be required to make a Comprehensive Support Fee payment for that partial month. Instead, the payments will commence on the Payment Date of the subsequent month. For example, if a Carvel location opens on March 15th and the Payment Date is the 10th of each month, the first Comprehensive Support Fee payment will be drafted on April 10th.

Carvel franchisees must ensure that sufficient funds are available in their Designated Bank Account to cover these payments. If there are insufficient funds, Carvel reserves the right to charge the franchisee for any return costs incurred by their bank, as well as an administrative fee to cover Carvel's costs associated with addressing the nonpayment. These fees are in addition to any interest accrued on the overdue amount.
