What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Carvel collects the monthly POS system fees from franchisees and then pays the vendor on the franchisee's behalf. These fees may change over time.
The monthly software license fee for the POS System ranges from $159 to $397 per month under the CapEx Program, depending on the equipment configuration. If a franchisee chooses to lease the POS System under the HaaS Program, the monthly software license and hardware lease fee ranges from $216 to $442 per month, also depending on equipment configuration, plus a one-time $300 activation fee.
This arrangement means that Carvel acts as an intermediary, streamlining the payment process for franchisees. Instead of franchisees individually managing payments to the POS system vendor, Carvel handles the collection and disbursement. This can simplify bookkeeping for franchisees and ensure that the vendor receives timely payments. Prospective franchisees should confirm the current fee amounts and payment procedures with Carvel, as these are subject to change.
