What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee estimate for a Co-Branded Shoppe includes two separate fees. The first is a $30,500 initial franchise fee paid directly to Carvel. The second is another $30,500 initial franchise fee that is paid to Cinnabon, the co-branded franchisor, under the Cinnabon Franchise Agreement. This grants the franchisee the right to operate a Cinnabon franchise in conjunction with the Carvel location.
In essence, a prospective franchisee of a Carvel Co-Branded Shoppe must be prepared to pay two initial franchise fees, one to each franchisor. This is in addition to all other initial investment costs associated with opening the location, such as construction, equipment, and inventory.
This co-branding arrangement allows franchisees to offer both Carvel and Cinnabon products from a single location, potentially attracting a wider customer base and increasing revenue. However, it also means complying with the standards and requirements of both franchise systems, as well as paying the initial and ongoing fees to both Carvel and Cinnabon.
