What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Carvel's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not required to participate in any financing program implemented by Carvel. Carvel does not offer direct or indirect financing, nor do they guarantee any franchisee's financial obligations such as notes, leases, or other debts.

Carvel may refer franchisees to leasing or financing companies that are not affiliated with them. Neither Carvel nor its affiliates receive any fees or financial benefits from lenders for these referrals. Carvel may also hire an advisor to consult with franchisees to help them secure financing, and Carvel may pay this advisor for their services. However, Carvel is not responsible for the consultant's services, and franchisees must sign a separate agreement with the consultant if they choose to use their services.

Carvel participates in the SBA's Franchise Directory and may modify the Franchise Agreement to comply with SBA requirements, allowing franchisees to participate in certain SBA loan programs. This participation in SBA programs does not constitute a mandatory financing program implemented by Carvel, but rather an accommodation to facilitate access to government-backed loans if a franchisee chooses to pursue that option.
