What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Carls Jr. Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees who sign a Development Agreement or Franchise Agreement for one or more Carls Jr. restaurants to be located at a Travel Center Location or Gas and Convenience Location may qualify for one of two development incentive programs. These programs are designed to encourage and support the development of new Carls Jr. restaurants in specific types of locations.
The first program is the Carl's Jr. Restaurant Travel Center Development Incentive Program, officially named the "CJR 2025 Travel Center Development Incentive Program." This program is specifically tailored for franchisees looking to establish Carls Jr. restaurants at Travel Center Locations or Gas and Convenience Locations.
The second program available is the Standard Development Incentive Program, referred to as the "2025 Development Incentive Program." If a franchisee does not meet the requirements for the Travel Center Development Incentive Program, they may still be eligible for this standard program, provided they meet its specific criteria. These incentives typically involve reductions in the initial franchise fee and ongoing royalty and APO fees for the first three years of the franchise term, as detailed in Items 5 and 6 of the FDD.
