What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Carls Jr. Franchise Disclosure Document, the Acknowledgment Addendum to the Carl's Jr. Restaurant Franchise Agreement does not apply to franchise candidates or franchised restaurant businesses located in specific franchise registration states.
The states where this addendum is not applicable are California (CA), Hawaii (HI), Illinois (IL), Indiana (IN), Maryland (MD), Michigan (MI), Minnesota (MN), New York (NY), North Dakota (ND), Rhode Island (RI), South Dakota (SD), Virginia (VA), Washington (WA), and Wisconsin (WI).
This means that if a prospective franchisee is located in or plans to locate a Carls Jr. restaurant in any of these listed states, they will not be subject to the Acknowledgment Addendum.
