What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Carls Jr. Franchise Disclosure Document, the Carl's Jr. Renewal Fee is due at the time the new franchise agreement is signed. The renewal fee is $5,000 for a renewal term of 5 years or $10,000 for a renewal term of 10 years.

Carls Jr. reserves the right to prorate the Renewal Fee to align with a renewal term with a corresponding lease expiration date. This means that if the lease on the restaurant location is expiring at a different time than the standard 5 or 10-year renewal term, Carls Jr. may adjust the renewal fee accordingly.

As with most franchise agreements, all fees are generally imposed by and payable to the franchisor (Carls Jr.), are non-refundable, and are uniformly imposed on all franchisees who receive the disclosure document, unless otherwise noted.
