What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Carls Jr. Franchise Disclosure Document, Carls Jr. has the right to modify the Carl's Jr. System, including the menu and menu formats. This means that Carls Jr. can make changes to what is offered on the menu and how it is presented to customers.

For a prospective franchisee, this implies that the menu they initially sign on with may not remain the same throughout the term of their franchise agreement. Carls Jr. can introduce new items, remove existing ones, or alter the layout and design of the menu boards or printed menus. Franchisees are obligated to implement these changes as part of maintaining a consistent brand standard across the Carls Jr. system.

While Carls Jr. has the right to make these changes, franchisees should expect to receive adequate notice and training on any new menu items or formats. This ensures that they can properly prepare and serve the food, as well as train their staff on the updated procedures. Franchisees should maintain open communication with Carls Jr. to understand the reasons behind menu changes and how they can best implement them in their restaurants.
