What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Carls Jr. Franchise Disclosure Document, the MIT Observation 1 training takes place at Star University or a Designated Training Facility. This on-the-job training module lasts for 45 minutes.
Star University is Carls Jr.'s online Learning Management System, used for administering, tracking, and reporting learning and development programs. Franchisees are required to sign a Star University License Agreement and are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary high-speed internet and hardware to utilize the system. The use of Star University costs $14 per fiscal period, which is defined as a 4-week accounting period.
Designated Training Facilities are physical locations approved by Carls Jr. for conducting in-person training. These facilities may be company-owned or third-party locations.
