What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Carls Jr. Franchise Disclosure Document, Carls Jr. provides franchisees with electronic access to two key resources: the Development Guide and the OPM (Operating Procedure Manual). These electronic resources contain mandatory specifications and standards related to the construction of Carls Jr. restaurants. They also include information about the franchisee's obligations under both the Development Agreement and the Franchise Agreement.

The Development Guide and OPM are confidential and proprietary documents that remain the property of Carls Jr. The franchisor may revise the contents of the OPM, and franchisees must comply with any new or changed sections. Franchisees can inspect a copy of the OPM before purchasing a franchise, provided they first sign a Confidentiality Agreement.

Carls Jr. also provides periodic advice and consultation, potentially through electronic information, regarding restaurant design, management, and operations. This support extends to new developments, techniques, and improvements in areas such as food preparation, sales promotion, and financial metrics. The brand may also adopt new administrative forms and electronic means of reporting and payment of monies owed to CJR.
