What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Carls Jr. Franchise Disclosure Document, an applicant seeking a franchise opportunity must first attend a meeting at Carls Jr.'s offices and at a Carls Jr. restaurant. This meeting, referred to as "Discovery Day," allows the applicant to meet with and be evaluated by various Carls Jr. personnel.
In addition to attending Discovery Day, Carls Jr. may require the applicant, along with any employees or other individuals they designate, to complete other training programs. The necessity and type of these "Training Programs" are determined by Carls Jr. based on their assessment of the attendees' needs.
Carls Jr. will provide the applicant and their designated individuals with confidential information during Discovery Day and the Training Programs. This information is proprietary to Carls Jr., and the applicant must agree to keep it confidential. This agreement ensures that all disclosed business methods, trade secrets, and other sensitive data remain protected.
