We may require those individuals who will have a 10% or greater interest in the franchisee entity to attend a 10-Day Operations Overview before we will commit to enter into any other agreement with you. What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Carls's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for covering the travel and living expenses for their personnel attending the 10-Day Operations Overview. Specifically, the FDD states that if Carls requires individuals with a 10% or greater interest in the franchisee entity to attend this overview, the franchisee must pay all associated travel, living, and other expenses.

This requirement has significant financial implications for prospective Carls franchisees. The 10-Day Operations Overview is a mandatory training program, and the costs associated with travel, lodging, and food can add up quickly, especially if multiple individuals from the franchisee's team are required to attend. Franchisees should factor these expenses into their initial investment calculations.

It is important for prospective franchisees to clarify with Carls exactly who is required to attend the 10-Day Operations Overview and to get an estimate of the potential costs involved. Understanding these expenses upfront will help franchisees budget appropriately and avoid unexpected financial burdens during the initial stages of setting up their Carls franchise.
