What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Carls Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement stipulates that the applicant, along with any other individuals involved, must not discuss salaries with CJR personnel. This requirement is part of a broader agreement to maintain the confidentiality of information provided by CJR during the Discovery Day and Training Programs. This restriction is explicitly mentioned within the context of miscellaneous terms in the agreement.
This provision means that prospective Carls franchisees and their designated individuals are prohibited from engaging in salary discussions with CJR employees. This restriction likely aims to prevent potential conflicts of interest, maintain internal pay equity, and protect sensitive company information. Franchisees should be aware of this limitation and ensure that they and their team members adhere to it to avoid breaching the franchise agreement.
It is important for potential Carls franchisees to fully understand the implications of this clause. While it restricts salary discussions with CJR personnel, it does not prevent franchisees from conducting their own market research to determine appropriate compensation levels for their employees. Franchisees should consult with legal and business advisors to ensure they are compliant with all aspects of the franchise agreement and relevant labor laws.
