What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Carls's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the estimated annual cost for maintaining, updating, or upgrading the Computer/POS System ranges from $1,800 to $3,000. This cost can fluctuate based on the repair history of the system, the local costs of computer maintenance services, and technological advancements.

It's important to note that this estimate is separate from any requirements to install a new cash register or point of sale system. Carls requires franchisees to maintain their point of sale system in good repair and allows the franchisor to access the information stored within the system without contractual limitations.

Prospective franchisees should consider these ongoing technology costs when evaluating the overall investment and operational expenses associated with a Carls franchise. It would be prudent to inquire about the typical lifespan of the Computer/POS System and the frequency of required updates or upgrades to better anticipate these expenses.
