Who has the right to award the right to service National Accounts to a Caring Transitions franchisee?
Caring_Transitions Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
The exclusivity of your territory does not extend to customers that we identify as National Accounts. A "National Account" is business, association, or other organization with members, affiliates, policyholders, offices, stores, plants, buildings or other facilities that are not confined to the territory of a single Caring Transitions franchisee. With our prior written consent, you may service National Accounts at or from locations in another franchisee's territory. We have the exclusive right to identify customers or potential customers as National Accounts, to service National Accounts, and to award the right to service National Accounts to any Caring Transitions franchisee, in our sole and absolute discretion.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Caring Transitions's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Caring Transitions retains the exclusive right to award the right to service National Accounts to any Caring Transitions franchisee. A "National Account" is defined as a business, association, or other organization with facilities not confined to a single franchisee's territory.
This means that while a franchisee may have an exclusive territory, this exclusivity does not extend to National Accounts. Caring Transitions has the sole discretion to decide which franchisee, if any, will service these accounts. This is a significant point for prospective franchisees, as it clarifies that large, multi-location clients are not automatically included within their protected territory.
With Caring Transitions's prior written consent, a franchisee may service National Accounts at or from locations in another franchisee's territory. This implies that franchisees may have opportunities to work with National Accounts, but only with the explicit approval of Caring Transitions. This provision ensures that Caring Transitions maintains control over these key client relationships and can strategically allocate them among franchisees.
This policy is fairly common in franchising, where franchisors often retain control over national accounts to ensure consistent service and maintain relationships with large clients. Prospective franchisees should inquire about the process for obtaining approval to service National Accounts and the criteria Caring Transitions uses to award these opportunities.
