Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Franchisor may, but is not obligated to, hold national and/or regional meetings and conferences with Franchisor's personnel and franchisees at locations designated by Franchisor, to provide additional training, exchange sales, operating and marketing ideas and methods, introduce new software, marketing programs, or promotional items, and for any other purpose determined by Franchisor. Franchisor has the right to charge Franchisee a reasonable fee for and require Franchisee to attend any meetings or conferences. As of the Effective Date of this Agreement, Franchisee is required to attend national conferences. Franchisor has the right to charge Franchisee a fee if Franchisee fails to attend a required meeting or conference, to reimburse Franchisor for a portion of the cost thereof. Nothing in this agreement is to be construed to require Franchisor to hold, provide, sponsor, host, or organize any such meetings.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Caring Transitions' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Caring Transitions may hold national and/or regional meetings and conferences with its personnel and franchisees. These meetings can be for additional training, exchanging sales, operating and marketing ideas, introducing new software, marketing programs, or promotional items, or for any other purpose determined by Caring Transitions.

Caring Transitions has the right to charge franchisees a reasonable fee to attend any meetings or conferences and requires franchisees to attend national conferences. If a franchisee fails to attend a required meeting or conference, Caring Transitions has the right to charge the franchisee a fee to reimburse Caring Transitions for a portion of the cost.

However, the FDD states that nothing in the agreement requires Caring Transitions to hold, provide, sponsor, host, or organize any such meetings. This means that while franchisees are required to attend national conferences, Caring Transitions is not obligated to hold them.

This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, where franchisors often hold conferences for training and networking purposes, but the specific requirements and obligations can vary. Prospective franchisees should inquire about the frequency, cost, and content of these meetings to fully understand the ongoing training and support provided by Caring Transitions.
