What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Caring Transitions' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the population of a territory is determined using extrapolated census figures and a designated mapping system. The base initial franchise fee grants an exclusive protected territory containing a population between 175,000 and 200,000 residents.
If the territory's population exceeds 200,000, the franchisee must pay an additional $500 for each 1,000 people (or part thereof) over that 200,000 threshold. There is no maximum limit on the population size of a Caring Transitions territory.
This method of population determination is fairly standard in the franchising industry, as census data provides a consistent and verifiable metric. Prospective franchisees should inquire about the specific mapping system Caring Transitions uses to ensure they understand how the territory's population is calculated and to assess the potential for growth and associated fees.
