What is the geographic requirement for a Caring Transitions franchise territory?

Caring_Transitions Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Before you open your business, we will:

  • (1) Approve or disapprove the boundaries that you submit for your franchise territory. Your territory must be a single, undivided geographic area delineated by postal code(s). If the Postal Service alters the boundary or number of the postal code(s) assigned to you, we will re-define the boundaries of your territory to correspond as nearly as possible to your original territory. Our decision on this matter will be final.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Caring Transitions's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee's territory must be a single, undivided geographic area delineated by postal codes. The franchisor retains the right to approve or disapprove the boundaries submitted by the franchisee. If the postal codes change, Caring Transitions will redefine the territory boundaries to correspond as closely as possible to the original territory. The franchisor's decision regarding territory boundaries is final.

This means that a prospective Caring Transitions franchisee needs to carefully research and propose a territory defined by specific postal codes that they believe offers sufficient market potential. The franchisee does not have ultimate control over the territory's exact boundaries, as Caring Transitions has final approval and can redefine it if postal codes are altered. This underscores the importance of thorough due diligence and open communication with the franchisor during the territory selection process.

Unlike some franchises that may define territories based on population, demographics, or other factors, Caring Transitions relies specifically on postal codes. This can provide clarity and reduce ambiguity in defining the territory. However, franchisees should be aware that changes to postal codes, which are outside of their control, could lead to adjustments in their territory boundaries. Franchisees should discuss with Caring Transitions what criteria they use to approve territory boundaries.
