What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 Caring Transitions Franchise Disclosure Document, the excerpt provided does not specify the franchisee's obligations regarding equipment upon termination of the franchise agreement. However, the FDD does state that franchisees must purchase and install a Communication and Information System, along with fixtures, furnishings, signs, and other equipment as specified by Caring Transitions' System Standards. All such items must conform to the System Standards.

Caring Transitions retains the right to mandate that franchisees acquire goods and services exclusively from designated suppliers, which may include Caring Transitions itself or its affiliates. This includes the right to condition supplier approval based on benefits accruing to Caring Transitions and/or its affiliates from franchisee purchases. Caring Transitions and its affiliates may also receive income or benefits from these purchases. Furthermore, Caring Transitions can require franchisees to purchase certain goods or services from specific suppliers or participate in cooperative purchasing arrangements to maintain quality standards or leverage discounts.

Given the absence of explicit details about equipment disposal or handling upon termination in the provided excerpts, it is essential for prospective franchisees to seek clarification from Caring Transitions regarding these obligations. Specifically, franchisees should inquire about whether they are required to return, sell, or dispose of any equipment, and if so, whether there are specific procedures or approved vendors for such actions. Understanding these requirements is crucial for assessing the potential costs and responsibilities associated with exiting the Caring Transitions franchise system.
