What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Caring Transitions Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may be required to purchase or license proprietary software programs or websites for use in their franchised business. If required, the franchisee must execute any license, sublicense, or maintenance agreement required by Caring Transitions or any approved licensor or vendor of these programs or websites. This ensures that franchisees use approved and potentially standardized systems for managing their business.
This requirement extends to the Communication and Information System, which includes hardware, software for managing the business and sharing information with Caring Transitions, and communication systems. Franchisees must lease or purchase this system only from vendors approved by Caring Transitions. They are also prohibited from installing any unauthorized devices or software with the approved system.
Caring Transitions retains the right to develop or authorize others to develop proprietary software programs or websites for use within the franchise system. This allows Caring Transitions to maintain control over the technology used within its franchise network and to implement updates or changes as needed. While Caring Transitions may provide a website, they make no guarantees regarding its suitability, reliability, or availability.
