Caring_Transitions Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Franchisor may, in its discretion, designate any geographical area in which at least two Caring Transitions franchises are located for the purpose of establishing a local or regional marketing and advertising cooperative ("Cooperative").
Franchisee shall take appropriate steps to establish and participate in a Cooperative if required to do so by Franchisor.
If a Cooperative for the geographical area in which the franchised business is located has already been established when Franchisee opens the franchised business, then Franchisee shall immediately become a member of the Cooperative under the terms of its governing documents.
If a Cooperative for the geographical area in which the franchised business is located is established during the term of this agreement, Franchisee shall immediately become a member of the Cooperative, and take all steps necessary to become a member.
In no event shall Franchisee be required to be a member of more than one Cooperative for the franchised business established under this agreement.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 Caring Transitions Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement does not explicitly state the exclusive purpose for which a Cooperative is organized. However, it does state that Franchisor may designate any geographical area in which at least two Caring Transitions franchises are located for the purpose of establishing a local or regional marketing and advertising cooperative.
According to the FDD, if Caring Transitions requires a franchisee to take appropriate steps to establish and participate in a Cooperative, the franchisee must do so.
While the FDD does not specify the exact nature of the cooperative's activities, it implies that the primary function is related to marketing and advertising efforts within a specific geographic region where multiple Caring Transitions franchises operate. A prospective franchisee should inquire with Caring Transitions about the specific objectives, operational guidelines, and financial obligations associated with Cooperative membership to fully understand its role and impact on their franchise.
