According to Caring Transitions' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Caring Transitions may require additional agreements to ensure adequate safeguards for Franchise Data and to ensure that the transfer of Franchise Data to Caring Transitions complies with data protection laws. Franchise Data includes any data collected or acquired by the franchisee from clients, employees, or other sources.

As part of the franchise agreement, the franchisee must process Franchise Data in accordance with data protection laws. This includes only processing data as necessary to fulfill obligations under the agreement, following Caring Transitions' instructions unless they conflict with data protection laws, informing individuals about the purpose of data processing and their option to remove personal information, obtaining approval for handling personal data, and restricting access to the data to authorized personnel and third parties with appropriate contractual covenants.

Caring Transitions is expected to cooperate with the franchisee to ensure compliance with data protection laws. This cooperation includes entering into additional agreements as needed to safeguard Franchise Data and ensure lawful data transfer to Caring Transitions. The franchisee must also comply with data protection laws as a data processor when processing Franchise Data on its own or Caring Transitions' behalf.
