What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Care Plus Medical Ucc's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company generally does not own the premises of its franchisees. The FDD states that the franchisee is responsible for locating a suitable site, subject to Care Plus Medical Ucc's approval. Care Plus Medical Ucc will review and advise on potential locations submitted by the franchisee but is not obligated to assist in locating a site or negotiating the purchase or lease.
This means that prospective Care Plus Medical Ucc franchisees will typically need to either lease or purchase a location for their business. The franchisee bears the responsibility for conforming the premises to local ordinances and building codes, as well as obtaining any required permits. Care Plus Medical Ucc does provide standard building plans and specifications, along with recommended floor plans and décor specifications, to assist with the construction, remodeling, or decorating of the premises.
Since the franchisee is responsible for securing the location, they should carefully consider factors such as general location, neighborhood, competition, trade area demographics, traffic patterns, parking, size, physical characteristics of existing buildings, and lease terms. Care Plus Medical Ucc will consider these factors when deciding whether to approve a site. The time limit for Care Plus Medical Ucc to approve or disapprove a proposed site is 30 days after the franchisee submits all required documents and information. If a mutually agreeable site cannot be found, the franchisee may be in default of the franchise agreement.
